NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Officials at Fort Campbell, Ky., say Tennessee Titan wide receiver Kenny Britt was charged with driving under the influence as he attempted to pass through a security gate at the Army installation on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line.
A statement from the installation’s public affairs office said Britt was taken into custody at about 3:30 a.m. on Friday and later released.
Team spokesman Robbie Bohren said in an emailed statement that the Titans were aware of the situation and were gathering more facts.
This is Britt’s eighth run-in with police since he was drafted in 2009. He met in August with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who chose not to suspend him over repeated police incidents that occurred during the NFL lockout.
Britt injured his knee and played just three games for the Titans last season.
