63-year-old veteran stabbed on Manhattan train by teen girls

NBC New York – A 63-year-old man was stabbed on the 6 train Sunday morning after he tried to quiet down a rowdy group of women, police said.

The man was attacked at around 6 a.m. when he approached the group of seven women and one teen as the train was entering the 23rd St. station.

Police say the man asked them to lower their voices and then the group attacked him. One of the women stabbed him in the left shoulder.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, officials said.

His attackers were taken into custody by police at the station and a knife was recovered, police said.
