Derek Luke, Omari Hardwick and Mike Epps bring 'Sparkle' remake to life

The new Sparkle film features an all-star cast of black stars, including Jordin Sparks, Carmen Ejogo, Tika Sumpter, Mike Epps, Derek Luke, Omari Hardwick, and the late Whitney Houston. The remake of the 1976 movie  hits theaters Friday and stars Houston as the mother of three girls who form a singing group and struggles with fame and drug addiction.

In an interview with theGrio, the men of Sparkle talk about their roles in the highly anticipated remake.

Luke opens up about how he prepared for his romantic scenes with Sparks, Hardwick reveals which actress was more intimidating for him to work with: Houston or Janet Jackson? And Epps discusses where he got his inspiration to play his character in the film.
