Willow Smith letter: 'Dear Tupac, I know you are alive'

Willow Smith recently posted an Instagram letter she wrote a few years ago, to a legend who died before she was even born: Tupac Shakur.

There are no shortages of longstanding rumors about the late California hip-hop artist — from gossip that he had a relationship with Willow’s mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, to questions of whether he faked his own death and moved to Cuba.

It probably didn’t help to quell the rumors of his death when seven posthumous Tupac Shakur albums were released.

Now the rumors come to a head in the 11-year-old pop star’s latest post:

Dear Tupac,

I know you are alive someplace. I think that my mommy misses you. Can you come back so mommy and me can be happy! I wish you were here … I really do!

Love, Willow

Jada Pinkett already spoke publicly about her friendship with Shakur. In 2010, the actress told WJLB Morning Show.

Pac and I were never in a romance but I do know that we had those feelings for each other. It was more of a platonic romance between he and I that we put inside a brother, sister, sometimes mother, son, father, daughter good friends relationship.  We knew us being together in a romantic way would destroy everything because we were both fire. We would burn everything up! So we knew in order to preserve our relationship there was no way we could ever add romance to it cause we probably would’ve killed each other!

The release of this letter comes not long after Jada Pinkett-Smith slammed rumors of a divorce from Will Smith in Essence magazine.
