Michael Jackson’s children were mobbed at candle light vigil in honor of their late father’s birthday held yesterday in Gary, Indiana.

“A candlelight tribute to the ‘Beat It’ hitmaker – who died in June 2009 aged 50 – was held outside his boyhood home… at 2300 Jackson Street,” the Daily Mail reports. The vigil was held amid a day of festivities in the tiny locale.

Fans dressed up like the late King of Pop to attend the vigil — one zealous Jackson worshiper etched a commemorative design in honor of Michael into her hair — but in many ways the icon’s children were the stars of the show. Their father’s fans pressed towards Paris, Prince Michael, and Prince Michael II seeking autographs as though they are stars in their own right.

They have certainly been the center of recent drama, as the family’s custody battle over Jackson’s kids and the rights to his fortune has played out in public. But it looks like this hiatus from that storm is bringing these Jackson siblings some peace. Their unity is something their father would have enjoyed.
