WASHINGTON (AP) — Fergie, Patti Austin, Keke Palmer and Sheila E. are among the entertainers lending their voices to an effort to get single women, people of color and young adults to the polls this November.
A new song and music video for “L.O.V.E. (Let One Voice Emerge),” urges nearly 20 million unmarried women, minorities and young adults ages 18 to 29 to register and vote. According to the Voter Participation Center, those groups make up more than half of all eligible voters — yet they represent 63 percent of all unregistered citizens.
The video debuted in time for National Voter Registration Day.
It also features actors Kate Walsh, Seth Green, Alyssa Milano, Rachel Leigh Cook, Sophia Bush, Jessica Szohr, singer Lalah Hathaway and Brooklyn Nets baller Joe Johnson.
