Tomorrow Tyler Perry will appear on the big screen in the highly-anticipated thriller Alex Cross. In the film, Perry, who is best known for his Madea persona, takes on the role of Dr. Alex Cross, a homicide detective who’s engaged in an epic game of cat and mouse with a deranged serial killer.

According to Deadline.com, author James Patterson’s crime novel Double Cross is being “turned into a second movie starring Tyler Perry as the famous Washington DC crimefighter/psychologist.”

Perry took over the Cross role from Academy-Award-winner Morgan Freeman, who first played Alex Cross in Kiss the Girls and Along Came A Spider.

The Madea Goes to Jail actor reportedly signed on to play Alex Cross for $5 million up front.

The tagline for the book Double Cross hints at what fans can expect from the sequel; “Alex is being targeted by two psychopathic killers.”

Neither the production company, QED International, nor James Patterson have yet to confirm Perry will star in Double Cross.
