Red carpets around the world featured our current crop of favorite starlets and fashion darlings doing what they do best: looking fabulous in over-the-top fashions that few of us can pull off or afford. Movie premieres and award ceremonies, two of the biggest events that spur A-listers to bring their A game, abounded this week giving us plenty of amazing eye candy and style inspiration for the week to come.

Rihanna made a big splash this week, as usual. She attended the GQ Men of the Year issue celebration in a sultry red slip dress by Calvin Klein, letting her slim, toned body speak for itself in all its glamour. Another pop favorite, Cassie, turned up at the same event in a much more dramatic, one-shoulder dress by Anthony Vaccarello with futuristic accents that complemented her skrillex haircut.

Rihanna’s new perfume, Nude, is also set to launch next week on Black Friday. In the meantime, she gave fans a peek at her nearly-nude body while performing this week during her 777 tour in skin-toned baggy khakis and a push-up bra, mixing lingerie and menswear. Say what you will about her, she is always taking fashion risks and injecting fresh energy into her style.

The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards gala — a major night in fashion — also brought out models Chanel Iman and Liya Kebede. Iman strutted in a golden gown and upswept hair giving her look a ’20s vibe, while Kebede stayed starkly modern in a daring, translucent Proenza Schouler frock. They were definitely the style stars of the night.

The MTV Europe Music Awards may not have made a blip on this side of the Atlantic, but that did not stop African-American luminaries from hopping over the pond to soak up some of that continental limelight. Alicia Keys and Ludacris kept it fresh and clean in fun clothes fit for a music industry fete.

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2 brought out more black stars than one would imagine, in particular newcomer Tracey Heggins who plays Senna in this latest installment of the vampire saga — and an Amazon. At the Los Angeles premiere for the film she looked delicious in a blood-red strapless number with matching red lips that popped.

Entertainment reporter Shaun Robinson also got in on the blood-themed fun with scary contacts giving her the eyes of the human blood-drinking “bad” vampires as they are portrayed in the blockbuster.

But perhaps the biggest style star of the week was Skyfall actress Naomi Harris, whose grecian, blue gown and flowing hair looked opulent and regal as she attended yet another premiere for the latest installment of the Bond franchise. The actress looked serene, yet stunning, relaxed and dynamic, in the kind of ensemble that garners attention effortlessly. Nothing is more sophisticated than looking beautiful without looking like you are trying too hard.
