Laurence Fishburne appears in Superman ‘Man of Steel’ trailer as Perry White

theGRIO REPORT - Laurence Fishburne stars as Perry White in the highly anticipated Superman reboot 'Man of Steel'...

The latest Superman reboot, Man of Steel, won’t hit theaters until the summer of 2013, but a newly-released trailer has fans of the franchise filled with excitement.

The film is directed by Zack Snyder (The Watchmen) and produced by Christopher Nolan, who also directed and produced The Dark Knight trilogy.

Man of Steel tells the story of Clark Kent, an alien infant raised on Earth, who grows up with superhuman abilities. He then sets out to use those abilities to guard and protect his adopted world.

This version of Superman appears to be more gritty, and darker than the last time we saw the superhero on the big screen in 2006’s Superman Returns.

Henry Cavill, from Showtime’s The Tudors, stars as Superman alongside Amy Adams, who plays Lois Lane.  Kevin Costner and Diane Lane appear as Clark Kents’ earthbound surrogate parents.

Laurence Fishburne stars as Perry White, the Editor in Chief of the fictional newspaper Daily Planet and the boss of Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

The acclaimed actor is the first African-American to play Perry White in a live-action film.
