While most may know him from his 2002 hit “Pump It Up“,  Joe Budden, is one of hip-hop’s most gifted lyricists.

As one fourth of the rap group, Slaughterhouse, the New Jersey rapper is frank and very candid on social media in regards to all aspect his of personal life.

His openness may have played a part in being selected for the upcoming season of Love & Hip Hop.

On this season, Budden will be in a interesting position, as he will be sharing the screen with former girlfriend and fellow cast-mate, model Tahiry.

If blacks drive reality TV, why is BET losing to VH1?

Their well documented relationship, very public breakup and the inclusion of his new girlfriend Kaylin in the show, could make for great reality television.

Budden sat down with theGrio to discuss his role on Love & Hip-Hop and why’s he looking forward to bringing ‘balance’ to a colorful cast of characters.
