Last year’s Grammy celebrations were marred by singer Whitney Houston’s tragic death and her impact is still being felt to this day.

It was especially bittersweet for her mentor, super-producer Clive Davis, because her passing happened on the night of his Grammy party.

At the unveiling of her daughter’s wax figure in New York City last night, Cissy Houston shared with the audience that she was invited to Davis’ annual party.

To say she wasn’t pleased would be an understatement.

“I got an invitation to the party — which is the most obscene thing. I don’t know why they would want me to come to the party in which she died, you know? Unheard of.”

Cissy Houston recently appeared on The Today Show discussing her book chronicling the life of her late daughter, an account which her granddaughter, Bobbi Kristina, rejects.
