Miami father shot and killed protecting daughter from home invaders

On Tuesday night, home invaders entered Maurice Renard Harris’ Miami home and shot him dead as he fought to protect his family.

Annie Streeter, Harris’ mother-in-law, told NBC Miami that he son-in-law was shot multiple times while fighting to keep intruders from entering his 11-year-old daughter’s bedroom.

The two intruders left after the shooting, and Harris was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities have not made any arrests in relation to the home invasion.
