TODAY – Being 15 years old isn’t easy for anyone, but being the daughter of the late Michael Jackson makes adolescence even tougher.
But so far, Paris Jackson seems to be managing those difficult years admirably, and in a recent interview with Britain’s Daily Mail, she opened up about her famous father and her plans for the future.
“We all loved him to death,” she said in the interview. “He had that good energy where you just didn’t want to leave.”
She also respected Jackson’s decision to cover the faces of his children when they went out in public, even if it seemed strange at the time: “He didn’t want anyone to see what we looked like,” said Paris. “That way we could have what he didn’t, which was a normal childhood.”
She said her father taught her how to dance — and to moonwalk.
Not that it’s entirely easy to be Michael Jackson’s daughter, though. Paris admitted in the interview, “I’m on a tight leash, and I feel if that leash was loosened a little bit I would definitely have a chance at a normal childhood.”
At the moment she’s got no real plans to expand the spotlight that will likely always be on her in some fashion. While she says she’d like to be an actress “throughout high school,” she hopes to walk a different path later on.
