Alicia Keys’ upcoming summer concert in Israel has generated considerable controversy and been repudiated by outspoken activists such as author Alice Walker.

The Color Purple author has warned that she was placing herself in “soul danger” by performing in an “apartheid country” presently “being boycotted by many global conscious artists.”

Keys’ critics suggest she bypass the nation because of its human rights abuses against the Palestinian community.

For her part, Keys has remain steadfast that she will perform.

“I look forward to my first visit to Israel. Music is a universal language that is meant to unify audiences in peace and love, and that is the spirit of our show,” she recently told the New York Times.

Now, a group of Palestinians have made a video directed at Keys, featuring her hit song “Girl on Fire” in attempt to call attention to their peoples’ plight.
