‘Anchorman 2’ trailer: Meagan Good plays potential Ron Burgundy love interest in Will Ferrell comedy

The first official trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2004 Will Ferrell comedy classic Anchorman, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues has arrived.

The ex-Saturday Night Live star returns as the fictional, top-rated 1970s San Diego anchorman Ron Burgundy. Paul Rudd (Brian Fantana), Steve Carell (Brick Tamland), and David Koechner (Champ Kind) also all return for round two, completing the beloved news team.

The trailer opens saying the group has become “but a whisper, told by the trees until now.” The gang reassembles in the 80’s for the dawn of a brand new 24-hour news network.

Christina Applegate will be making an appearance as Veronica Corningstone, Burgundy’s girlfriend from the original. Kristen Wiig also joins the cast as Brick’s dim-witted crush, and actress Meagan Good is a new face in the cast as one of Ron’s love interests.

In the trailer Ron is eating dinner with the Meagan Good character’s black family and says, “I don’t read Jet Magazine, or Jheri Curl Daily.”

The typically oblivious Burgundy later says, “I’m breaking down the barriers of race by assimilation. And on that note which one of you convicts with the longest record can pass me the mashed potatoes?”

Kanye West, Liam Neeson and Harrison Ford are among the big names expected to make cameos in the movie.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues is due to hit theaters Christmas 2013.
