Rappers wish they could play ball. Basketball players wish they could rap.
LeBron James is making sure the cycle continues.
The NBA’s reigning Finals MVP posted two Instragram videos of him rapping over Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Ni**as in Paris” instrumental Tuesday night. The videos don’t show James so fans will have to instead settle for just his rhymes.
“It’s the kid King James,” LeBron spits. He follows with shout outs to the “Four Horseman” (his inner circle) and his hometown of Akron, Ohio:
James follows up the short intro clip with some actual lyrics. James isn’t taking himself too seriously, adding the hashtags #ButImNotARapper and #IPlayBall to his rap debut:
Still no word yet on whether LeBron’s rap moniker will be ‘Kid King James’ or ‘2 Ringz.’
Is an album in King James future? It must be nice to be a back-to-back NBA Champion.
