Rihanna took to Instagram on Sunday morning and posted a picture of Trayvon Martin as she expressed her thoughts on George Zimmerman’s acquittal for the shooting death of the 17-year-old Florida teenager.

In a post published the day after the jury’s decision was announced, Rihanna drew comparisons between Martin and her younger brother, Rajad Fenty, who is also 17-years-old.

The singer posted the above photo of Martin and below it, her caption read: “A child was gunned down for no reason! And nothing about that sounds like murder? My baby brother is 17, this rocked my whole sh–! #thesystemisandhasalwaysbeenphucked”

Several other celebrities, civil rights leaders and prominent black figures have also spoken out about the verdict through a variety of outlets.

Among them was Beyoncé, who held a moment of silence for Martin at her concert in Nashville on Saturday.

Rapper Young Jeezy, also voiced his opinion through a new song he posted to his Facebook page titled, “It’s a Cold Word (A Tribute to Trayvon Martin).”

In his post, the rapper wrote: “I am in no way shape, form, or fashion … trying to capitalize off of the latest series of events. These are my true feelings and my form of expression about it.”
