Andre 3000 rep denies 2014 solo album
Andre 3000, actor and one half of the rap duo Outkast, has a very passionate fan base that has been waiting patiently for new music.
Rumors of a new Andre 3000 project generated gossip over the weekend, but according to recent reports, fans might just have to wait a little longer.
In an official statement from Andre 3000’s camp to Billboard, his reps threw cold water on the prospect of a 2014 solo release.
“Regarding reports of a specific plan to release an album in early 2014,” the rep says, “There is no official confirmation on that report.”
There have been numerous rumblings and rumors of a Andre 3000 solo LP since the last official Outkast project, 2006’s Idlewild, was released. Yet nothing real has materialized.
Aside from a few guest verses, on which he outshined fellow rappers like T.I., Rick Ross, and Jay-Z, Andre 3000 seems to be more focused on his acting currently.
The “Hey Ya!” emcee will be playing the iconic musician Jimi Hendrix in his upcoming biopic: All Is By My Side.
Will Andre 3000 ever release a solo project? Will Outkast ever reunite?
