Rakim Allah, known for his deep baritone and menacing delivery, combined with Eric B’s smooth production, made for a talented duo.

You can’t have a thorough discussion about the evolution of hip-hop without the mentioning of the NYC tandem.

Though they parted ways in the mid 90’s, fans have longed for a reunion album. In a recent interview, Rakim confirms he’s working on a 4th solo album later for this year, but Eric B won’t be involved at all.

“Eric B’s not my enemy but we don’t really speak,” said Rakim of his former partner to XXL. “I don’t wish him no bad luck, but I don’t call him.”
