The legendary Paul McCartney, of Beatles fame, hosted a live Twitter chat to speak to his fans Thursday.

McCartney has a new album on the way titled New he’s promoting.

Topics of the Twitter exchange ranged from upcoming collaborations with Bob Dylan to what continues to motivate him to create music after 40 plus years in the industry. The online conversation became particularly interesting once a fan asked what were the last few albums the music icon bought.

Who knew the elder pop star was such a hip-hop fan?

In 2003, indie DJ Danger Mouse mixed Jay Z’s “retirement” album The Black Album with The Beatles’ The White Album. The resulting Grey Album drew praises from fans and music insiders alike, yet Hov and the iconic member of the Fab Four have never officially worked together.
