NBC’s Last Comic Standing is heading back to the small screen and comedian Wanda Sykes has signed on to be one of the show’s executive producers.

Variety reports that the eighth season of the comedy talent competition is slated to return in summer 2014.

The show first debuted in 2003 and it has since been nixed from the network and made its return on more than one occasion. The last season of the unscripted series aired three years ago.

Now, Sykes has teamed up with producer Page Hurwitz to resurrect the show through their company, Push it Productions.

The two have also worked together on executive producing Wanda Sykes Presents Herlarious, an hour-long comedy sketch show that will be returning to OWN in January for two special editions.

The episodes of Herlarious will air on Saturdays, Jan. 4 and Jan. 11, at 10/9c.
