We’re suckers for an original and risky interpretation of the National Anthem, (think Marvin Gaye’s classic NBA All-Star rendition in 1983), and Jesse McGuire’s trumpet playing certainly qualifies as a new spin on the Star Spangled Banner.
The musician performed a show-stopping version of the song at this past weekend’s Carolina Panthers-San Francisco 49ers NFC playoff fame to rapturous applause and praise.
McGuire has performed for sports crowds many times in the past and toured alongside legends like Wynton Marsalis and the Tower of Power.
