TheGrio caught up with the stars of the new film Ride Along at Wednesday’s New York premiere.

Ice Cube and Kevin Hart teamed up for the Atlanta-based comedy about a guy (Hart) who joins his fiancé’s brother (Cube), who is a police officer, on a ride along to prove he is worthy of his future bride.

Tika Sumpter, who plays Cube’s sister and Hart’s love interest, said the actors made a great team. “It’s just like two different personalities that just work together,” Sumpter said.

“I did not try to keep up with them, try and be funny,” the actress said.  However she did share with theGrio a joke that Hart had taught her.

While the film is just hitting theaters, rumors have already begun circulating about a potential sequel. The stars couldn’t confirm the rumors, but all agreed they’d like to be part of a sequel if it happens.

The comedy opens in theaters today.
