Raising Whitley follows actress and comedienne Kym Whitley and her small circle of friends – whom she calls “The Village” – as they attempt to do something none of them have ever done before: raise a baby…together.

In an interview with theGrio’s Chris Witherspoon, Whitley is moved to tears discussing a recent text message that she received from her son Joshua’s biological mother.

“I recently received a text from her, a text that just blew me away,” Whitley revealed. “She said ‘I want to thank you for taking care of Joshua. You are a wonderful mother. You are his mother. I believe that I was put on this earth to give you this baby.’ She’s been watching the show and she said ‘I can’t think of a greater person, and I thank you for taking him.'”
