Magic Johnson calls Dennis Rodman’s trip to North Korea ‘pathetic’

Dennis Rodman’s high-profile trip to North Korea did not sit well with a lot of Americans, including his fellow NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson.

The legendary former Laker called Rodman out during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, for cozying up to dictator Kim Jong Un, who is a vocal enemy of the United States.

“It’s pathetic. And also, you can’t go to a place that is trying to harm us,” he said. “I wasn’t too happy about him going over there, and then you’re taking a team over to play. Everybody over there is probably this high so of course you should win the game. They’re not tall. And [Dennis’ team] still lost.”

Rodman has made headlines for his erratic behavior as well as his unorthodox attempts at diplomacy.

He recently checked himself into rehab for alcohol addiction upon his return to the United States.
