Singers Shakira and Rihanna teamed up in a new song “Can’t Remember to Forget You” on the Latin singer’s album and while the lyrics may sound tame, the music video was found offensive to some.

The nearly-four minute music video — which has received more 71 million views — shows the two scantily-clad performers in scenes that show the two caressing each other, an act one conservative Christian politician has recently slammed as “simply disgusting.”

Marco Fidel Ramirez, a Columbian councilman, has spoken out against the video on Twitter saying it is an “unabashed glorification of lesbianism.”

According to the Associated Press, he has requested that the video be reviewed by Colombia’s national television authority in hopes that it will be banned from being viewed in the country.

The Huffington Post has translated a message the council posted on his website; it reads:

The family councilman, Marco Fidel Ramírez, categorically rejects the content of Shakira’s latest video because it hurts the moral character of Bogota, Colombia and Latin America’s youth.

Ramírez is vindicated as the defender of principles and values and profoundly laments that the talented Colombian singer has allowed herself to be part of the moral decomposition by participating in a “simply disgusting” video with Rihana [sic] another renowned musical artist.
