A scripted comedy series based on Nas’ life as an up-and-coming rapper in the early 90s in New York has been greenlit by Xbox Entertainment Studios.

Originally reported by Deadline, the Jonathan Levine directed project titled Street Dreams,will be among of the first of many for Xbox live original shows to compete with Netflix and Amazon.

2014 has been an amazing year for Nasir Jones so far.

Illmatic, his debut album, turns 20 and Nas plans to re-release the project with new verses.

Nas was also approached by former Foursquare developer, Tristan Walker, to invest in BEVEL, a new hair care grooming service geared towards men of color.
