Kid Cudi shocks fans; releases 4th album with no press

Former G.O.O.D Music rapper Kid Cudi pulled a ‘Beyoncé’ on his fan base, and released his 4th album Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon via iTunes without an announcement Monday night.

Originally scheduled to be an EP leading to a 2015 album, the Man On The Moon felt he had more than enough material for a proper commercial album, he said in an interview with MTV.

“I was surprised how well the album came together. I usually go into to the studio, hoping everything makes sense at the end. But this felt different,” Cudi recalled.

The 10-track offering from the Cleveland native sonically will remind you of his first two albums, Man on The Moon: End of Day and its sequel, for its brooding production, stripping away his rock influences and focusing on Cudi’s vocals.

One standout collaboration, “Balmain Jeans,” features legendary singer songwriter Raphael Saadiq of Tony! Toni! Toné! fame.
