Kid Cudi on current state of hip-hop: 'It's holding black people back from growing'

Rapper and actor Kid Cudi recently stopped by The Arsenio Hall Show to promote his new movie Need For Speed and album Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon.

Cudi has never been one to hold his tongue with regards to his genre-bending music, past drug use and his love for his young daughter.

When asked about the current state of hip-hop, “Mr. Rager” gave a very honest answer, arguing the glorification of wealth and promiscuous women is preventing the African-American community from progressing in a positive way.

“I think the braggadocio, money, cash, hoes thing needs to be deaded [sic],” Kid Cudi told Arsenio. “I feel like it’s holding us back as a culture. As black people. And doesn’t advance us in any form.”
