Michigan State's Adreian Payne's bond with 8-year-old cancer patient touches fans
theGRIO REPORT - Michigan State basketball player Adreian Payne has proven that his sense of loyalty and dedication go beyond the court and his friendship with an 8-year-old cancer patient has touched countless fans.
Michigan State basketball star Adreian Payne first met 8-year-old Lacey Holsworth at a hospital two years ago where she was being treated for Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
It marked the beginning of an unbreakable bond where Payne and “Princess Lacey” now call each other brother and sister and text each other daily.
Payne has proven that his sense of loyalty and dedication go beyond the court and his friendship with Lacey has touched countless fans.
Earlier this month, he attended a fundraising party for Lacey and also invited her as a guest on senior night. She also joined in cutting down the basketball net after the Spartans won the Big Ten Tournament.
Amid all of the March Madness mayhem, Payne and Lacey’s story is one that is uplifting and inspiring – and we hope their friendship continues to flourish.
