ATLANTA, Ga. – Atlanta area firefighters say they’ve been the victim of repeated car thefts and break-ins in recent months.

Firefighters say the brazen thieves have targeted cars in the station parking lots, typically while they were out on emergency calls.

According to police reports there have been seven car thefts or break-ins at South Fulton County fire stations, stretching back to August 30.

The Fulton County Fire Department says they are planning to install fences at several stations starting next week. They hope the fences will be a physical deterrent to would-be thieves.
