While Diddy never graduated from Howard University when he was a student there back in 1989, the Revolt TV executive will be delivering the 2014 Commencement speech at his alma mater this Spring.

Howard University confirmed Diddy’s involvement from their official account Monday and reactions have been decidedly mixed.

While some have praised the HBCU for giving the mogul the opportunity to share his insights with its senior class, others believe the honor should have gone to someone who was an actual college graduate.
