Florida State University’s star quarterback Jameis Winston was cited this week for allegedly stealing crab legs from a Florida supermarket.
The Heisman Trophy winner was issued a civil citation by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office for shoplifting from a Publix, according to Florida television station WFLA.
The sheriff’s office has scheduled a press conference for later today at 2 p.m. Winston, who is also a pitcher for FSU’s baseball team, will be fined $30 and required to do community service, according to SB Nation’s Bud Elliott. Elliot also writes that Winston could be suspended from the team.
Initial reports said that Winston had been arrested, but because it’s his first criminal offense, he was given the citation.
In January, Winston led the Seminoles to their first National Championship since 1999.
