Standard Hotel fires person behind alleged Solange-Jay Z fight video

NBC - A New York hotel said Wednesday it had identified and fired the person who recorded security camera footage that appeared to show Solange attacking Jay Z.

A New York hotel said Wednesday it had identified and fired the person who recorded security camera footage that appeared to show Solange Knowles, Beyonce’s sister, attacking Jay Z on May 5.

The surveillance video from the Standard Hotel was leaked to TMZ.

In a statement released to NBC News, the hotel said the individual who was terminated was “responsible for breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video released by TMZ.”

“The Standard has already terminated the individual and will now be pursuing all available civil and criminal remedies,” the statement added.

The incident took place in an elevator at the Standard Hotel following an after-party for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Gala in New York City last week.

The silent video shows a woman believed to be Solange Knowles attacking a man believed to be Jay Z. She is restrained by a second man who appears to be a bodyguard.
