Macklemore denies he was mocking Jewish stereotypes with costume
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performed in their hometown of Seattle, Washington, over the weekend, but the Grammy-award winning duo is facing backlash for what Macklemore wore on stage while performing “Thrift Shop.”
Macklemore was dressed in a costume featuring a large hooked nose, beard, and a shiny shirt. Some people believe the “Same Love” emcee was mocking Jewish stereotypes:
Macklemore got word of his Twitter critics and replied with tweet of his own, calling his attire “random.”
A fake witches nose, wig, and beard = random costume. Not my idea of a stereotype of anybody.
