A Bronx landlord is accused of discriminating against prospective black tenants, the I-Team reports.
The landlord allegedly told African-Americans who were looking for apartments that the Woodlawn area building had no openings just moments after telling prospective white tenants there were vacancies.
Undercover applicants from New York’s Fair Housing Justice Center secretly recorded interactions with rental agent Ray Brij-Raj, and they claim the recordings reveal blatant discrimination.
Earlier this week, Fair Housing Justice filed a federal lawsuit against J.J.A. Holding Corp., the company who owns the buildings in question.
