A Florida teen is in critical condition Monday after his father shot him multiple times on Father’s Day.

According to police, Eugene Blackwell Jr.’s father shot him four times Sunday evening after his mother left the New Smyrna Beach home, reports NBC Miami.

Neighbors called 911 after hearing gunshots.

The 18-year-old reportedly stepped in during an argument between his parents.

His father fled after the shooting, but eventually surrendered to authorities.

The 45-year-old is being held at the Volusia County Jail without bail. He has been charged with attempted murder.
