Lifetime’s upcoming biopic about legendary singer Whitney Houston just got real.

Thirty-one-year-old Yaya DaCosta, who will star as Houston, recently began shooting. Entertainment Weekly has the first image of DaCosta in all of her Whitney Houston glory — re-creating the iconic cover of the singer’s 1987 album, Whitney.

DaCosta, a former contestant on America’s Next Top Model, says recreating the album cover was effortless,“I just looked at the picture and did the pose!” she told Entertainment Weekly.

Houston’s Waiting to Exhale co-star, Angela Bassett, is directing the film, which is set to air in early 2015 on Lifetime.
