A Brooklyn heavy metal band consisting of three black teens from Flatbush just caught their big break.

The band, Unlocking The Truth, has reportedly signed a recording contract with Sony. It could certainly make the boys very wealthy before they even reach high school.

The group consists of 13-year old Malcolm Brickhouse on guitar, 12-year-old drummer Jarad Dawkins and 13-year-old  Alec Atkins on bass.

According to the NY Daily News, Unlocking The Truth’s Sony contract will become lucrative if the band sells well.

They will receive a $60,000 advance to record their first album and up to  $325,000 for their second project. Sony has an option on the table to extend the contract to six albums with escalating advances per album that could be worth up to $1.7 million.

The members of Unlocking The Truth are creating their own unique path in music and should be applauded.
