Indiana Pacers forward Paul George took to his Twitter account to voice some controversial comments about the recent Ray Rice NFL suspension.
George tweeted that if Rice’s wife, Janay Rice, isn’t “trippin,” then he should be able to play.
Rice was fired by the Baltimore Ravens and indefinitely suspended from the NFL earlier this week after a surveillance video surfaced of him punching his then-fiancée , current wife in the face, knocking her out.
George originally tweeted:
Directly following the questionable and now deleted tweets, he sent out this “apology:”
Let me apologize to the women and to the VICTIMS of domestic violence people my intent was not to downplay the situation..
