Iggy Azalea's lawyers slam alleged sex tape: 'someone is trying to damage her career'
Iggy Azalea appears to be the latest celebrity involved in a sex tape scandal.
Yesterday, TMZ reported that Iggy Azalea allegedly recorded a sex tape and was offered seven figures from porn giant Vivid Entertainment to release the footage.
Vivid honcho Steven Hirsch told TMZ he had seen some footage which he said appeared to be Iggy with an ex-boyfriend — and from the little he’s seen … he’s sure it could easily top Kim Kardashian’s legendary sex tape in sales.
Reps for Azalea quickly slammed reports that the 24-year-old Australian rapper ever made a sex tape.
“It is categorically not Iggy Azalea in the video in question. She has never been involved in any sexually explicit recordings,” Azalea’s rep told the Huffington Post.
Azalea also took to her personal Twitter page to dispute the reports of a sex tape.
“Obviously I’ve seen the news feeds today and I just want to say… I don’t have a sex tape but for the record,” she tweeted, “Anyone who releases or attempts to make profit off someone else’s intimate moments against their will is a sex offender.”
Overnight, Azalea’s camp changed their tune. This morning, Azalea’s lawyers released a new statement to TMZ regarding the sex tape, claiming that if the “Fancy” rapper is in a sex tape, it should be considered revenge porn.
Azalea’s lawyers told TMZ that any video would be the work of a “spurned business suitor” who is trying to damage her career and get revenge. They also stated that if it is the rapper in the video, then it was possibly shot “without her knowledge or consent,” possibly while she was a minor.
