Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea twerk together in 'Booty' video

Maybe Vogue actually got it right, with their declaration that “we are officially living in the era of the big booty.”

Example — Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea celebrating their “big booties” in Lopez’s new video for a “Booty” remix, her latest single penned by Chris Brown.

According to the New York Times no one has been honored for their derriere more than Jennifer Lopez, whose buttocks were called “in and of themselves, a cultural icon.”

But Ms. Lopez is not the only one on the “big booty train.”

Let’s not forget some of the summer’s biggest hits that also paid tribute to healthy behinds, including Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” and Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass.”

In August, the video for “Anaconda,” Nicki Minaj’s ode to big butts, racked up 19.6 million views in the first 24 hours of its release and today has received over 177 million views.

Earlier this month, Vogue came under attack after publishing an article entitled “We’re Officially in the Era of the Big Booty,” with critics suggesting the publication was wildly out of touch with mainstream black popular culture.

The article’s author suggested that the size of women’s backsides has only now become more accepted with the rising popularity of white celebrities such as Kim Kardashian or Jennifer Lopez, who regularly flaunt their behinds.

Do you agree? Are stars like Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, and now Iggy Azalea making big butts more acceptable?
