A number of protesters were arrested late Thursday night in Ferguson.
These demonstrations continue in the wake of the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, a black teenager who was unarmed.
During Thursday’s incident, a scuffle began following Police Chief Tom Jackson’s ‘question and answer’ session with demonstrators. Jackson attempted to join those gathered in a ‘march,’ but was unable to after a scuffle that broke out nearby.
It’s unclear how many arrests were made.
Jackson released a video earlier that day, apologizing for way the police handled the Michael Brown case and the ensuing protests. Despite this apology, demonstrators still gathered in downtown Ferguson to call for his resignation.
On August 9, 18-year-old Michael Brown was fatally shot by police officer Darren Wilson. The case is currently investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice and is being decided upon before a grand jury in St. Louis County.
Racially charged demonstrations and bursts of violence have sparked regularly since the shooting, and protesters vow to continue doing so until Wilson is arrested and charged for Brown’s death.
