Another news anchor dropped the F bomb this week.
This time is was News 12’s Matt Pieper, who was caught on-air Wednesday morning giving some unsolicited parental advice:
“Parents should do their f**king jobs and walk their little kids to school on their own and not rely everyone else like people rely on government assistance for all their lives. And bye Felicia,” Pieper could be heard saying to a colleague during what he thought was a break.
The news station later issued an apology via Facebook:
As a result of a technical error during a program break this morning, a personal conversation between an anchor and a reporter was unintentionally placed on the air. The conversation included offensive language and inappropriate commentary. News 12 the Bronx deeply regrets that this incident took place. The remarks of these individuals in no way reflect the views of News 12 management or other News 12 personnel. Steps have been taken to deal with the employees involved and resolve the technical issues. We take this incident extremely seriously and we sincerely apologize to all who may have been offended.
Pieper’s colleague, Amy Yensi, was about to report on a story related to the need for crossing guards in a Bronx area neighborhood. Yensi also made some off-color remarks about food stamps.
Earlier this year, News 12 reporter Sean Bergin “quit” the station after delivering controversial remarks about young black men growing up without fathers.
