Denzel Washington does a killer Jay-Z impersonation

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

We all know that Denzel Washington is one of the greatest actors of all time, but we didn’t know that he was such a good impersonator. The two-time Academy Award winner made an appearance on The Queen Latifah Show to promote his new film The Equalizer. Washington recalls being in the studio with Lenny Kravitz and Jay-Z, when the rapper offered to play him one of his new tracks.

Jay Z said, “Yeah, D, I’ma play this for you, D,’” Washington said, with a spot-on impression of Jay’s voice. “It was ‘Change Clothes.’ He’s like, so what’d you think, D?’ I was like, ‘Play that again.’ He was so nonchalant with it.”

The actor also revealed a connection with another hip-hop star. Washington says he grew up with rapper Ludacris’ father — Wayne Bridges. The two won a talent show together at the Boys and Girls Club playing The Beatles.
