1-year-old boy held at gunpoint for sneakers
Police are still searching for two suspects who held a 1-year old at gunpoint while forcing the parent and other adults to give them their footwear. The suspects walked into the residents’ apartment in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, last Tuesday.
They threatened to kidnap the child if the adults didn’t give them their sneakers. For the adults, the choice was easy — give away the possessions to save the toddler’s life. Once the adults gave their sneakers and their gadgets, one of the suspects tossed the child onto the ground.
A total of 18 pairs of sneakers, 2 iPhones and other electronics were stolen; all valued at $6,000. The two suspects, who were wearing bandanas at the time of the robbery, are described as black men between the ages of 20 and 25, according to police.
