An 18-year-old high school senior in Mesquite, Texas, died in his sleep over the weekend, apparently of natural causes.
Trey Taulton, a wide receiver on the John Horn High School football team, was discovered Sunday morning in his home. His football coach, Mike Overton, tweeted the tragic news later that day:
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of our brother and teammate Trey Taulton. He will be deeply missed.

The football coach told Devin Hasson of Star Local Media that Taulton was out with friends Saturday night but “was not believed to have shown any health-related signs.”
Hasson reports the team has officially dedicated the rest of its season to Taulton. The team’s official Twitter account posted a picture of Taulton’s now dedicated locker:

Overton described Taulton as a “good kid” and “great teammate.”

A FundMe project was started to raise money for Taulton’s family. The page launched on Sunday and, as of Wednesday, has raised nearly $2000 of its $7000 goal.
Funeral services for Taulton will take place Thursday morning at Sunnyvale Baptist Church.
