The threat at the Jacksonville, Florida, school was quickly resolved after police were called, other students were removed from the situation, and the student with scissors was taken into custody. The other students in the school were not hurt and were still dismissed on time.

Principal Lindsey Conner sent home a letter to parents explaining the situation and assured them that “this type of behavior allegedly demonstrated by the accused will not be tolerated because it does not accurately reflect the safe and effective learning environment we are committed to building and maintaining.”

The letter did not go into much more detail, citing the Duval County School Police’s request for an “uncompromised investigation.”
