Gwinnett County, GA — Â A fifteen-month-old baby was already dead of starvation when her father took her to the hospital.
When 44-year-old Calvin McIntosh brought his daughter to the hospital, medical personnel there determined that her death had been caused by neglect and abuse, based on her physical appearance.
Police then searched McIntosh’s motel room, where they met 23-year-old Najilla McIntosh and three other children, ages 5, 3 and 3. The children were all severely malnourished.
Police also found a 21-year-old woman who was so malnourished that she weighed only 59 pounds. The woman, who has now been identified as a woman who went missing in 2010 at age 17, is still in the hospital in serious condition.
At the scene, police also found notes and literature on Nuwaubian Nation of Moors, a sovereign Islam-based cult, and ritualistic behavior.
Police believe that Calvin McIntosh fathered all four children and would starve them for disobedience. Calvin McIntosh is charged with rape, incest, and aggravated sodomy; and both Calvin and Najilla McIntosh are charged with felony murder, malice murder, first-degree cruelty to children, second-degree cruelty to children, and cruelty to a physically disabled adult.
