A Shelby County, Tennessee, officer has been charged for fatally shooting one woman and attempting to shoot a 12-year-old boy.
Jaselyn Grant was off duty when she came home and waited for 29-year-old Keara Crowder, who is believed to have been living with Grant, to arrive home. When Crowder arrived, the two argued until Grant shot Crowder three times.
Deputies later found Crowder “lying in the front yard, bleeding” when they responded to an emergency call at 5 a.m.
Grant was relieved of duty and taken into custody. Investigators say that the case “appears to be a domestic-related incident.”
Grant is charged with second-degree murder for shooting Crowder and second-degree attempted murder for shooting at Crowder’s son. The boy was not injured.
